Free never comes free

Happy Wednesday! Today started off pretty good! Josh goes to work late on Wednesdays so we both got to sleep in. No homemade donuts today though! I usually drop him off at work on Wednesdays since we only have one vehicle and that way I can drive to youth group in the evening. We stopped by party city today so he could find a halloween costume for the costume party at youth group tonight. He ended up with a pirate outfit! Arr! Unfortunately I do not get to see him in it. *see bottom story*

The best part of the day was lunch! A brand new Chick-fil-a opened near his work so they handed out a ton of free sandwich coupons. 2 of which we used today. Chick-fil-a has regular and deluxe sandwhiches. The coupons were for regular but they let you get a deluxe with a 30 cent charge for lettuce and tomato. But we got charged for neither! So we got two deluxe sandwiches and a large soda for $1.77! I love coupons.

But I was taught today that free never comes free. Getting one thing free means I’ve got to pay later! (I’m not a pessimist this just happened to be the case today). As I was driving back home after dropping Josh off at work his truck decided it was going to die on me while I was on VA-7 which is a very busy road! First the battery light came on and the battery gauge dropped down to the big L but the truck was still running… I thought to myself, “I’m so close to home please just let me make it there!” I will admit that I probably should have just pulled over but I was so close to home! Soon after that, all of the gauges dropped… “nooo!!!”. But the engine was still running? There was now no way of telling how fast I was going due to the speedometer dropping as well! Finally I pull into a parking space at our apartment and just as I am about to put it into park it dies… Unfortunately this means no going to youth group tonight! I suppose that’s what I get for wishing something exciting would happen?
