Hard work

Well hello! I haven’t posted in quite a while. I’ve just been so lazy! Actually I have been quite the opposite! So Josh and I decided almost a month ago that we were going to get fit. Weight loss is only part of the goal. We are really trying to focus more on the “fit” aspect and not the “thin” part. So far we are doing pretty well. Josh has lost 10 pounds so far! I have only lost 6, but we all know it is harder for women to lose weight.

Thanks to Pinterest I have found plenty of little workouts I can do while I am at work nannying. I also purchased some DDR for the xbox and that has been helping me quite a bit. We are still able to eat the foods we love, we have just learned portions. I was surprised to find out that I actually can get satisfied off of ONE serving. What? No seconds? Nope! Sadly Josh and I are just now realizing that we don’t need to eat until we are bursting at the seems. Somewhere along the path we learned that that was the goal of eating. “Eat until you can’t eat anymore”. SO WRONG.

We have been eating chili dogs, hamburgers, pizza, pasta, bacon, etc. And we are still losing weight! It seems so many people think that they have to give up everything but lettuce to get the results they want. But the truth is, if you don’t mind going at a slow pace, you can still eat chili dogs. You just have to eat the right portions. For example: we used only half of a hot dog bun, bought Hebrew National 99% fat free hot dogs, and made homemade chili with 95% fat free ground beef. And they still tasted so great.

All in all, I am very proud of Josh and myself. I am hoping we can stick to this for a long time.
